Changing culture in the workplace starts with one conversation.
Conversations that matter!® is The Laid Bare Company’s twelve-week leadership programme, developed under real pressure with real leaders, and accredited by the Association for Coaching.
What's the urgency?
As AI speeds up, the human skills gap is growing.
Only 44% of employees say they’re thriving at work, and 1 in 3 UK workers don’t feel comfortable talking to their manager about stress. Leaders who can listen, connect and adapt are now a strategic advantage.

One programme. Pointed at the challenge that matters most to you.
| Your challenge | What changes | Who it’s for |
|---|---|---|
| Growth | Leaders open up possibility rather than defend the status quo | Senior leaders |
| Performance | Honest conversations drive accountability, not dependency | Managers and leaders |
| Wellbeing and burnout | Leaders notice, listen and support before people burn out | People and wellbeing teams |
| Innovation | Space to think differently and break down silos | Cross-functional teams |
| Leading through AI and change | The human stays at the heart of how you adapt | Leaders at every level |
| New to leadership | A shared, practical framework from day one | New managers |
Human-led, not app-led.
How the programme works
Our 12-week programme takes a modular, blended learning approach designed to help the learning stick long after the sessions end:
eLearning
Interactive, self-paced, bite-sized and thought-provoking, delivered through our platform.
Guided self-reflection
Exercises that raise awareness of current leadership strengths and identify the gaps worth working on.
Group discussion calls
Following each eLearning module, to deepen understanding of the core concepts together.
Small group workshops
Half-day sessions focused purely on observed, real practice, with real-time feedback.
One-to-one mentoring
Tailored feedback that helps leaders make the change stick, in the conversations happening on Monday morning.
We’ve delivered this programme to hundreds of leaders over the last decade, across financial services, retail, education, transport, and consultancy.
Wellbeing in practice
Your leaders don’t need to become coaches. Everyone benefits when they get better at talking to their people and listening to understand, not just to respond.
More than a skills programme. Leaders build their skills while working together on a live challenge in your organisation.
“The results have been transformational, equipping our practitioners with stronger coaching mindsets and improving the quality of conversations across their day-to-day work.”

A platform to return to
The Conversations that matter!® platform sits under every session, giving leaders a place to revisit content and reflect on their current leadership. Individual logins let people track their own progress, and a mix of audio and visual learning suits different styles. It’s interactive and built for busy people.
Delivered by people who’ve led from the front
Conversations that matter!® is delivered by our associate team and by our Accredited Training Providers (ATPs). All are qualified, experienced coaches and facilitators with real leadership backgrounds, people who’ve led teams themselves.
Every ATP completes the programme as a learner first. It counts as CPD, and it means the people delivering this work have felt it from the inside.
FAQ
How many people from my company can you take?
Cohorts run with a minimum of four and a maximum of five delegates. If you have more than 5 delegates we will need to discuss timing and availability of participants and our delivery team.
Does this count towards CPD?
Yes, it counts towards coaching CPD. Whether it counts towards general CPD depends on your organisation’s own criteria, so it’s worth checking that against your internal requirements.
How soon can we start?
This depends on numbers. If you already have five delegates from your own organisation ready to go, the programme can start within a couple of weeks. If we need to bring together a cohort of participants from different organisations, that process takes a bit longer, usually up to a couple of months, to make sure the group is well matched and complementary.
How many hours should we set aside a week?
Delegates should expect to commit one to two hours a week depending on your timeline – there are two 4-hour live workshops to attend within the 12 weeks.
Can you deliver this in person?
Generally not, as the programme relies on regular touchpoints throughout the 12 weeks that work best in a blended format. We can deliver the two 4-hour workshops in-person if preferred and geography allows, so it’s worth having a conversation to explore what would work.
