Listening is at the heart of all great conversations and all great connections – so we’ve put it at the heart of all of our work too.

When we are met with deep listening, and no judgement, we feel more able to lay ourselves bare – creating a space to be truly ‘seen and heard’, which is where the ‘magic’ begins!

The birthing of Laid Bare

The Laid Bare Company was born in 2014, in response to a growing need from organisations, to change the way leaders communicated with each other and their teams.

We witnessed first hand the effects of poor communication on the overall well being of teams, and the knock-on effect on organisational performance.

With decades of experience in coaching and leadership, we saw an opportunity to bring a ‘stripped back’, more practical version of coach training to organisations, which focused on developing the coaching mindset and skills of leaders to drive more purposeful and impactful conversations.

The result? Thousands of leaders now engaging in real, honest conversations, leading to thousands more feeling seen, heard and understood.

Where are we now?

Today, we are a small company, keeping things simple, to transform the way leaders and coaches build relationships.

We have expanded our programmes to include a focus on inclusive conversations for leaders, and a focus on building the coaching partnership for coaches.

Our interactive learning platform has enhanced our offering, meaning we can pay more attention to embedding the learning from our programmes; thereby creating more impact for less investment.

What's our vision?

To build deeper human connection, both in and out of the workplace, by changing the way people have conversations.

In a world of digital distraction, and subsequent mental health challenges, it feels more important than ever, to put deeper human connection at the top of our agenda for change.

We strive to make a difference on a larger scale by offering our programmes to a wider audience and partnering with other training providers to deliver our content.

What's next?

To equip our children of today with the deep listening skills required to be our leaders of the future.

We are developing a programme for schools, to deepen the listening between pupils, teachers and parents, in a bid to grow listening communities.

The long term aim of our programme is  to support an integrated curriculum, by connecting life skills – communication, empathy and tolerance of diverse opinion – to subject areas.
